The return of Persephone

Another illustration from my version of the myth of "Hades and Persephone". In my version the story doesn't take place in the ancient greek but in 16th century, well, only in appearance... I'm mean the clothing, architecture, etc have a mix of renaissance-tudor-elizabethan-gothic-and-all-I-found-around inspiration.

This illustration shows Persephone's return from the underworld. When she arrives to the earth, the spring begins... and when she meets her mother Demeter the Earth flourished with vegetation and color, but for some months each year, when Persephone returned to the underworld, the earth once again became a barren realm.
